9/8/12 KEMELUT WANITA DAN PALESTIN.....

Masyarakat Sulu di Mindanoa. Laut adalah kehidupan mereka, daratan benteng pertahanan mereka lupakan. Akhirnya banyak menjadi Orang Hanyut di Sabah

Sejak beberapa bulan yang lepas, saya dihujani dengan beberapa masalah yang dihadapi oleh beberapa teman jauh dan dekat. Pertama, seorang adik angkat sejak saya di Universiti (1983) meminta bantuan bagaimana mendepani suaminya yang kian meliar. Puncanya, seorang wanita yang punya masalah rumahtangga, mulanya meminta bantuan sang suami untuk menjadi orang tengah dalam menyelesaikan beberapa masalah dengan suaminya. Hubungan mereka menjadi terlalu akrab, lalu bertukar menjadi intim.

(2) Perincian permasalahan pasti semua dapat menduga. Nasihat saya kepada adik saya ini adalah watch the burning fire across the river. Maksudnya, kita tidak usah bergelut dalam kancah masalah yang kita hadapi ie berebut kasih dengan sang suami. Sememangnya, sedap cakap dari beban bahu memikul. Pendirian saya mudah api jika sedang marak, jika disirami minyak pasti semakin marak. Lelaki saat dia sedang memburu jika disekat ganas, pasti roboh Kota Melaka diterjahnya. Akhirnya yang dikendung kekciciran. Sendiri juga mengemut jempol, sendiri mengisap ibu jari!. Peranan adik dalam masalah ini, mudah, layan saja sang suami seperti biasa, bahkan sedikit bersahaja. Saya yakin pepatah Melayu Tempat jatuh lagi dikenang, inikan pula isteri yang soleh tempat sama bermain banyak benarnya. Sebabnya, saya yakin, lewat perhubungan dia dengan sang isteri orang itu, pastinya akan perlahan-lahan membongkar silap kehidupan pasangan pasangan berkenaan. Jika adik sabar, tabah dan yakin Allah itu MahaBijaksana dalam mendidik dan menjaga kita yang terus berIman dan sabar.

(3) Kedua, seorang teman dekat yang kebetulan saya kenali sejak beberapa bulan lepas, katanya menghadapi serangan dari bekas suaminya. Saya terperanjat mengetahui perkara ini, kerana selama berkenalan dengan saya, tidak pernah soal sudah pernah bersuami timbul. Katanya bekas suami membuat ugutan bermacam-macam sehingga kini dia sangat terganggu. Akibatnya, dia sedang berfikir untuk melakukan perkara-perkara bodoh. Dalam soal ini, saya tetap mengambil sikap Watch the fire across the river. Kalau sudah terpisah, jika tidak punya ikatan apa-apa eg anak, harta, dsb, maka sikap kita seharusnya licik dan tegas, iaitu bo layan. Jika kita sudah tidak serasi, biar apapun, jika kita mengambil sikap bo layan apa mungkin dia tidak akhirnya sadar sendiri. Kalu kita layan, maka ibarat mencurah petrol di api membara. Jika kita tak layan, ibarat, membiar api dalam sekam, habis sekam padamlah api!

(4) Ketiganya, seorang teman jauh di awal 40an, sudah punya anak dua, biar sudah rasmi terpisah hasil perih jenuh naik turun Mahkamah Syariah, kini sedang berebut hak. Pertama hak menjaga anak. Kedua hak atas harta sepencarian. Dalam hal ini, sekali lagi pandangan saya tetap sama iaitu Watch the burning fire across the river. Jika kita yakin, betapa Allah itu akan sentiasa memelihara hak mereka yang teraniaya, serta jika kita tetap di jalan keImanan dan bakti, maka tidak usah kita berebut apapun, biar anak biar harta. Pastinya sekali lagi saya dituduh sebagai tidak punya prikemanusiaan dan gender bias, cakap mudah, buat belum tentu. Pendirian saya adalah mudah, perebutan dan sikap tidak mahu mengalah di antara keduanya tidak sekali-kali atas dasar menjaga kepentingan anak-anak. Sikap perebutan dan tidak mengalah itu hakikatnya adalah samada atas rasa dendam dan atau keduanya atau salah seorang darinya masih mahu bersama. Cuma ego tidak mahu mengalah. Bacalah tulisan Helen Fisher, PhD mengenai saikologi cinta untuk mengetahui sedikit mendalam mengenai hantu cinta. Saya dapat rasakan, hasil perebutan ini, pertembungan ego sebetulnya, kedua anak itu akan punah. Jadi pendirian saya, ingatlah akan janji Allah, berilah, kerana perbuatan memberi dengan penuh ikhlas dan yakin, pasti Dia akan ada ganjaran akhirnya buat kita. Jika sang suami atau isteri bermati-matian hendakkan anak dan atau harta, berikan sajalah dan biarlah pemberian itu kita jadikan sedekah paling ikhlas. Yakinlah, jika itu akhirnya adalah rezeki kita Allah itu MahaPengasih dan MahaPenyayang, pasti akan ada ganjarannya. Kita perlu syukur dan tabah.

(5) Keempatnya, saya juga telah dihujani oleh seorang teman lain, di saat dia menghadapi permasalahan berat, maka sayalah katanya orang yang akan sentiasa terlintas di kepalannya. Tidak usah saya ceritakan permasalahan lainnya, dan biar saya kemukakan satu permasalahan yang dihadapi olehnya terkait dengan kerjaya dan beban kerjanya. Saya kira masalah ini kia dihadapi oleh wanita-wanita bebas dan merdeka. Dia sebetulnya seorang yang bijak dan gigih. Sikap wanita, mereka sangat teliti dan patuh dengan peraturan. Kenapa wanita punya sifat sebegini? Atas sifat-sifat sebegitu, maka dia dinaikkan pangkat sebagai seorang Pengurus (manager). Saya kira dalam usia yang masih muda serta agak baru dalam syarikat maka pastinya banyak yang iri, apa lagi dia adalah seorang yang ayu tetapi jinak-jinak merpati. Beban kerja tertimbun ke atasnya. Bosnya tidak mahu mendengar permasalahannya dalam kerja, apa yang dia tahu, semuanya mesti beres dan dia mahu bermain golf. Pendeknya, pangkat sudah diberi, kuasa sudah diagih, dan kemudahan sudah disediakan, maka, buatlah kerja. Teman-teman sekerja, boleh dikatakan semuanya lelaki. Sikap lelaki, get it done first, procedure take care later. Time is an essence. Kenapa lelaki sepertinya less concern about procedure?. Saya berkira, dia sedang menghadapi kemelut budaya kerja lelaki-wanita yang mana lelaki bila sudah berkedudukan tinggi sikapnya serang dan maju sedang wanita keep everything in order. Untuk pembaca yang suka menyelidik, elok dibaca dua buah buku tulisan Louann Brizendine bertajuk Female Brain dan Male Brain. Saya berpendapat sedikit sebanyak hubungan kerja lelaki-wanita dapat difahami dengan agak jelas hasil dari penelitian Medic-Physiology beliau ini.

(6) Nasihat saya kepada teman ini tetap Watch the fire burning across the river. Sharizat Abdul Jalil suatu waktu dulu sangat bangga dengan kejayaan wanita bilamana ada sebilangan sekarang sedang menduduki kerusi Ketua Setiausaha dan Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Awam. Katanya, itulah hasil perjuangan Wanita UMNO. MasyaAllah. Jika kita melihat keberadaan pada kedudukan itu adalah kejayaan, saya kira kita sudah picek. Kita seharusnya melihat, pada kedudukan itu, apa mungkin keberhasilan matlamat Kerajaan buat rakyat itu kesampaian secara cekap dan berkesan? Itu seharusnya jadi ukuran Sharizat. Dan buat teman ini, nasihat saya mudah, setelah tujuh tahun berhempas pulas bersama membina syarikat, kita sebetulnya sudah dalam keadaan tepu bahkan boleh jadi defensive. Maka elok talk things out very honestly with the boss dan mintalah cuti rehat panjang. Saat beristirehat, elok look back and forward, mungkin ada cara yang kita telah silap dan mungkin juga ada kehidupan baru yang lebih sempurna buat kita.

(7) Pokoknya, pangkat dan kemewahan terkadang menjadikan kita lalai dan takut untuk mengorak langkah lain yang lebih memberi kejayaan. Kita terlalu takut, katakan jika terpaksa melangkah keluar, maka kita terpaksa start life from the begining. Buat saya, I wish to start life from the beginning. Percayalah, Allah sering berfirman, ...tetaplah pada jalan KeImanan, tekunlah pada kebaikan, dan bersabarlah..., pasti ada kejayaan. Mengertilah maksud, cintailah Dia melebehi segalanya, pasti cintaNya akan tetap juga pada kita. Sesungguhnya, ungkapan ini menuntut kita bukan untuk semata-mata rebah sujud kepadaNya, tetapi meninggalkan apa yang merugikan kita dan dengan berani dan tabah berjalan pada kejayaan masa depan yang jauh lebih besar. Sesungguhnya Muhammad SAW terpaksa melupakan kemewahan dan kebahagian Quraish Jahilliah, bergadai nyawa dan hidup payah-melarat kerana dia yakin Allah menjanjikan kemuliaan yang jauh lebih besar dari kesenangan kini. Abu Bakar As-Siddique, habis hartanya. Umar Al-Khattab, Uthman Affan (habis harta sehingga) dan Ali Abi Thalib, sanggup terbunuh semua kerana menghambat kebahagian mutlak. Mereka sujud penuh kepada Allah dan terus berbakti kepada Ummah.

(8) Mungkin kerana memory otak saya tergiang-ngiang oleh permasalahan dan penemuan saya akan erti mencintai Allah itu harus melewati segalanya hasil pembacaan saya terhadap buku-buku yang saya bawa pulang dari Mekah dan Jakarta sedikit masa lalu, maka tadi malam saya mendapat mimpi yang cukup anih dan mengasak untuk saya berfikir dan mengambil sikap lain yang lebih berani.

Saya bermimpi, saya berjalan di Padang Pasir. Tetiba saya bertemu sebuah tasik kecil, (kiri, runtuhan Masjid asal Hudaibyyah) dikelilingi pohon-pohan ara yang rendang. Suasana begtitu nyaman. Juga tiba-tiba saya didatangi beberapa teman, yang sebetulnya sedang berpelarian akibat peperangan. Anih, di tengah tasik, ada bekas-bekas runtuhan bangunan di mana lima tiang kelihatan sangat teguh. Di seberang jauh tasik, saya melihat api-api dan asap kebakaran yang dahsat. Kata teman-teman saya, itulah peperangan antara Yahudi dan Palestin.

Saya sepertinya, mengusul kepada teman-teman saya, kita bina saja kota Palestin di atas Tasik ini dan tiang-tiang itu kita jadikan bangunan gagah buat mereka. Saya juga seperti mengeja perkataan PA LES TIN, rangkai kata LES dengan jelas dan tegas kepada teman-teman saya itu.

(9) Saya terbangun, kehairanan dan berfikir. Namun, segera saya sholat Tahajjd untuk bertanya: Ya Allah berilah pertunujuk jelasMu. Apakah saya sedang terpengaruh kuat dengan konsep Watch the fire burning from across the river atau ada pertunjuk lain. Dalam sholat, terngiang kepapaan puak Sulu di Mindanoa, Champa di Vietnam dan Kamboja, dan Rohingya di Tenggara Burma. SubhanaAllah. Berapa ramai antara kita sadar dan peduli?

(10) Semasa menulis rencana ini, saya berjanji kepada diri saya sendiri akan membuat Pamiran Siksa Palestin dan Champa di MyStore, sedikit masa lagi dan akan melancarkan Tabung MercyMalaysia. InsyaAllah, sebahagian perolehan saya dalam operasi MySore dan Jualan Lukisan akan saya sumbangkan untuk MercyMalaysia. Jika ada teman-teman ingin membantu terutama untuk menjayakan Pamiran, sila berhubung terus dengan saya secepatnya.

(11) Saya berkira, segala kemelut yang kita hadapi kini, kerana kita sudah agak menyisih dari landasan asal. Kita mulai kian lupa memperjuangkan penghapusan kemiskinan dan kepayahah rakyat. Kita kian lupa memperjuang penghapusan kesengsaraan umat seIlsam di keliling kita. Kita sudah melihat menyintai Allah sebagai semata-mata sujud dan bertafakur. Kita juga lalai dalam mengerti keberkatan kerja dan kehidupan adalah gandingan bakti dan sujud. Kita sudah kian lari dari agenda fitrah kejadian azali kita. Kita sehrusnya kembali lekas kepada fitrah ini. SubhanaAllah.

(Jabal Rahmah, a place on earth where man first met woman, Adam met Eve. Here, Muhammad SAW received the Last Message from Allah. Here he then delivered his last Friday sermon, then he fall sick and pass away not long later)

If the speculation about man first existence is true, that Adam on his descending to rule the earth, he landed in India, while the wife, Eve, landed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, then all those religious development over the centuries must have something to do with such an event. Historically, as most religious historian speculated and predicted, the religion begin in the East, somewhere in the Himalayan. Even the Urdu language, to some was the first human communication language was developed in the East. Probably that was where Adam initially had landed. Buddhism and later Hinduism were speculated to develop from the mountainous India. Thereon the religion move to the East to merge with the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean cultures to form the religions of their own.

(2) In the West, one could read, the Babylon, the Egyptian, then the Greek, the Roman, the Persian, the Yaman, and the Anztec (South America) have developed their polytheism religion of their own. The fight against polytheism began at the time of prophet Abraham, the son of the master scripture of the Palestine. He believes that one should not pray to one own creation as practiced among the Arabs centuries before the proclamation of Islam as the complete monotheism for all mankind. In those days, Mecca was among the polytheism centre of the Arabia.

(3) If one ever visit say the Temple of the King, say the Dalai Lama Temple in Tibet, the Watt Prakeaw (?) in Bangkok, the Golden Temples in the Golden Triangles of Burma-Thailand, the Angkor Watt in Phnom Phen, Grand Buddish Watt in Vientien, Borobodur in Yogjakarta, the Sind temple in Amritsar, the Hindus Shrines at the Ganges, Vatican of Rome, even the Grand Pyramid in Egypt, all those in fact were and are the manifestation of a Holy City. I believe if one visit these places, sure one will have the feel of the religious aura of the place. Why?

(4) Accordingly, if one ever visited Taj Mahal, one probably could really feel the deadly passionate love of Shah Jehan to Mumtaz Mahal (this lady really ‘mahal’). Why is such a place having such a love serene seclude touch? What contribute to such an aura?

(5) The Mormons are proud with Salt Lake City of Utah, America. The City is so peaceful. People don’t simply drink beer here. A very abnormal among the West. Women and men wear well covered dress, well behave. Another abnormality. Everybody seem to be very polite and act with soft characters. The City nicely located overlooking the Salt Lake high up in the white icy mountain. If one is there, one can feel the aura of such a harmonious place of human culture and natural environment. Why? (Right, the Mormon Church in Salt Lake City)

(6) Let get down to Las Vegas or even Los Angeles, the Cities of anything, heaven on earth. The City house from devils to angels. All can do as they wish. A cities of total freedom. Cities of real capitalism. The same goes to Monaco, Macau, or even Hong Kong sometimes ago. All I would say, serve to their purpose.

Mecca Early Development

Mecca, in the history of Islam was indirectly developed by the angels. It started with the erection of the Kaabah, a place of worship for the Jin and angels. Allah probably had quietly planned that once he had created the human being ie Adam and Eve, surely this couple will have to be descended to manage all his other creations on earth. Allah made Kaabah as the human, jins, angels and even the satans unifying place. With such an assumption, I would guess the very reason why Adam, though he was parted far away in India (Himalaya), when descended to earth from heaven, he then walked to Jabal Rahmah, close to Jeddah to meet his love one, Eve to be united and breed thereon. Eve was the gift, the greatest incentive from Allah for him to walk thousands of miles to pay homage to the Kaabah though it was a mere ruin at that time, where later he was ordered to rebuild.

(2) Adam and Eve, they first gave birth to two twin pair kids ie Qabil and Habil. In order for the population of humankind to breed with greater genetic hybridization, Allah had ordered Adam to marry their kids in cross generation ie the sister of Qabil must marry to Habil and likewise. Unfortunately, the woman's beauty, ie the sister of Qabil was much beautiful than Habil, made Qabil to be a deviant, thus he refused to the idea. He demanded to marry his very own twin sister. But surely Adam disapproved such a demand, which later made Qabil to kill Habil. That was the beginning of human bloodshed on earth. Probably that was also the very reason, to this day, the Arabs (they are brothers) never can be peaceful with each other including the Israel or the beginning of the existence of sickening jealousy in human heart. Even among other brothers and sisters or families, most hardly can be kuku dan isi. The in fight among brothers and families members sometimes is much worst than among the non-blood related!

(3) Surely, Adam did have more progenies. All I would guess were asked to marry each other, and to disperse to the different direction of the earth, to form what today all these about 155 nationalities and tens of thousands of races and tribes worldwide. My quess the Arabs and the Indian stock particularly the northern tribes must had come from the Qabil and twin sister breeds. The Mexican may also come from the same stock.

(4) As time passed by, due to space, geographical setting, climatic differences, and cultural development, I would say was the very reason, Kaabah then became insignificant. Though Adam and Eve and all his kids were Muslims, but the religion of Islam was yet to be fully developed. Chances for deviation was and continue to be great. Human being in their very existence (and to this day), they were more preoccupied by the struggles to survive in the much challenging world as compared to their forefather home, the heaven. These struggles than built the new cultural forms, thought and ideologies. Thus, the cultural development of all these races and tribes, I would say surpass the development of the Total Islam. Before Muhammad SAW, Islam is just known as the religion of One God, Allah.

(5)Human quest never stop. They continue to search for their identities and supremacy. The cultural development and all those searches for supremacy later, made human come to the concept of God and Religion. The search mounted with the challenges of natural disasters. That how I believe, Allah, the Creator of this universe makes one mind wonder: Who govern the world, the sun, the stars, the moon, the sky and man’s most prominent question of who created him?. The concept of God and religion thereon crystalized. Thus, Buddism, Hinduism, Taoism, Zoaism (?), etc and all those, I would guess were the progressive cultural search for the Almighty Power that could unite and safeguard the human races of a particular region.

(6) Allah never left human mind to wonder without guide. Free ranching of human mind will end to nowhere. Over tens of thousands of years, since after the descending of Adam and Eve to earth, human still can’t be at peace with themselves. Then, the birth of Ismael through Hajar, a woman slave of Pharaoh given as the second wife to Abraham. The birth created jealousy to his elder wife, Sarah, that made Abraham to send Ismael-Hajar to the deadly desert Becca Valley, where the Kaabah was firstly built by the angels and later rebuilt by Adam. The thirst of Ismael, his deadly cries, made Hajar panic and felt hopeless, thus to wander between the Mt of Safa and Marwan, which later through the continuous kicking of baby Ismael, a stream of water pour out what today forms the ZamZam well. Thereon, the site became a resting place for the merchants and travellers flying Egypt-Yaman to Palestine-Sham (Syiria)-Iraq. The ZamZam well then attracted more and more travelers to reside in Mecca. The city there and then developed slowly into a busy trading post.

(7) Allah then ordered both Abraham and his son, Ismael to rebuild the Kaabah which by then was ruined to earth. With such, then came the call for all monotheism practitioners to pay homage to Kaabah on annual basis. Thereon, Mecca, with the Kaabah became a city of trading and spiritual retreat. Based on Adam’s and Abraham’s lives history, one could deduced, Mecca was the first city or at least human settlement on earth. It was built from rubble. It was built from the tears of Hajar and Ismael. It was built due to human bad feeling of each other. It was built of great struggle and sacrifices by Muhammad SAW and the blood of tens of thousands of the early Muslim fighters. It is a City built on one's clear destiny and dedication.

Pre-Islamic Management of Mecca

After the death of Ismael, Kaabah turned into the centre of polytheism, by the influence of the City of Sanaa in Yaman. That I would guess made the migration of his other brother, Issac to the Palestine, and organized his monotheism followers in BaitulMuqaddis. Allah then changed the kiblah of the early Muslim from Kaabah to BaitulMuqaddis. BaitulMuqaddis was then the centre of Judaism and Christianity, the supposed to be the progression religion of Islam, but then developed into the diversion of Islam. But Mecca survive due to the existence of the ZamZam and the pray of Abraham: "O Allah, the Al Mighty, please safeguard this City and keep it to prosper forever..."

(2) When Muhammad SAW managed to wrestle back Kaabah from the Kafir Quraish, his very own race through the Hudaibiyah Treaty, Kaabah then was returned as the centre of monotheism ie Islam and the kiblah of the Muslim. Thereon Kaabah developed into the spiritual city of Islam and the centre for the Islamic expansion. (3) In Mecca, Muhammad SAW spent most of his time in preaching about Islam. He devoted most of his time to teach and coach the Muslim to the true teaching and way of lives of Islam. He spent more time toward the spiritual aspect of the religion. Why? Time was the essence. He had spent most of his time (20 years?) in Madina in his struggle to wrest Kaabah into the original position of Islam, thus with his age catching fast, he needs to focus on receiving and revealing all those messages from Allah. But he also made great effort to spread Islam to the rest of the Arabia particularly to Iraq, Syria, and Palestine which in those days were hostile to the existence of Islam. I would say he had less time (mere less than 10 years?) to develop Mecca as compared to the time he had in developing Madina as an Islamic State or City. In Madinah he was surrounded by friendly communities, while in Mecca he need to face all the hostilities.

(4) I would believe, there then, by tradition, his disciples and all those strict followers, had paid less attention in the development of Mecca as a proper city or state. The focus was on spiritual and expansion of Islam as the way to the sunnah of the rasul. As the importance of Mecca as a holy city of the expanding Muslims, I would say, to this day, the focus was and is more toward accomplishing the basic physical spiritual needs of the pilgrimages. The Saudi, whom had been trusted to care for the Kaabah, Mecca, had not gone beyond what is tradition.

The Wisdom of Ukur Baju Di Badan Sendiri

I was fortunate to come across with the eldest son of the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea ie Sana Somare. In his word, ”We had made too much mistakes been led by the Australian to look at Australia as the model of our development. Australia is an advanced country while we are at the third or even fourth world status. We can’t compete with the professional, we need to learn from the amateur or semi-pro. Sarawak is the best model that we should emulate, but, our leaders (his dad, the Prime Minister and his Minister brother) missed that”. What is the significant of his Statement? The Malays proverb: Ukur baju di badan sendiri; one must fit one’s dress based on one’s size, I would say is very relevant when one critically analyse the development of both Mecca and Madinah.

(2) During my study in Colorado, USA, I met many Saudis studying there. They and the Arabs love to frequent Las Vegas, the most lively-happening city in America. It is the Mecca for gaming, entertainment, shopping, and sure money laundering of the American. Almost all the largest hotels on earth are located in Las Vegas. Sahara and Pyramid hotel, which were among the first built there, manifested the flocking of the Arabs to this city. A real nice customer friendly city with great landscapes and infrastructure-infostructure networks to the whole world.

(3) Las Vegas, in Nervada, in fact is a City built from dry deadly desert. Historically it started as a Saloon Station for the East-West travelers and cowboys. The Hover Dam, that source the water from the Colorado River that flows from the Rocky Mountain turned the City into what it is now. The City is a Mecca of Gaming, Entertainment, and Shopping. My revisit to the City in 2007, it seem the size had swollen to almost double from that of the 1998. Though almost all American Cities are planned and developed along the same principle ie grid-based, but what make Las Vegas different from the others are the fantastic urban landscape in the natural (trees, water bodies, etc) and artificial (lighting, arches, billboards, etc) forms, plus the efficient connectivity of all the hotels, casinos, shopping, and entertaining complexes. Thematic mega building structures (Pyramid, Sahara, Tropicana, Caesar Palace, etc) are well designed, configured and connected. The well configuration of the urban fabrics, that enable for the smooth and comfortable mobility of visitors, I would say is the key pull factor of Las Vegas. Las Vegas has the aura of a City of Sin. In no doubt, the City of Sin is and will forever is Las Vegas. One immediately feels the lives of Las Vegas once one travel along the Las Vegas Street. Why? (Las Vegas, a nice thematic City, Heaven on Earth)

(4) In Colorado, one could feel the University City once one visited Boulder and Golden. Why? For, Denver, the State Capital of Colorado, one could strongly feel the natural ambient of the Rocky Mountain, the feel of Take Me Home Country Road of the song of John Denver, thus giving the City the aura of the Mile High City. Why? As I studied the configuration of Denver, Boulder and Golden, all are designed and configured to blend with the natural functionality of the natural ambient plus efficiency of human and vehicular mobility.

(5) Today Mecca development, the Saudis are cutting their dresses along the American models. I would say, that is short sighted. To take everything from the American is not good. We should adopt and adapt all that would give Mecca its authentic unique and special values of its own. There shouldn’t be any second Mecca, there’s only one and one Mecca. Mecca, with the Kaabah, probably the first monument on earth, not originally designed by men, but by angels, with the doctrine of compulsory pilgrimage for the able Muslims, which say at today socio-economic status, there are about 40,000,000-60,000,000 of them worldwide. That will never can make Mecca sleep or rest.


(6) My observation of today Mecca development, soon this City will be turned into a Shopping City. Mecca is going into a vehicular city which is not in harmony to the spirit of walking as shown by Muhammad SAW. Mecca and Madinah is not pedestrian friendly at least 1,000 meters within the Masjid vicinity. Hotel with shopping mall are sprouting. But what would be the basic of Mecca? This is a Tanah Haram. Merely thinking making Mecca into a Mega-shopping City I believe wouldn’t work unless the liberal Saudi want to have a great friction with the keeper of Islam, which will not be acceptable to the Muslim world. Saudis should not behave wastefully. The wealth given by Allah to the State doesn’t belong totally to them. They can’t just be a big spender without thinking and planning on a much long term basis. The wealth given by Allah must be wisely used for the great welfare and comfort of every human kind.

(7) If one wants to look for ideas, not necessarily the best could give the best idea. The present best, probably is of human valued best and not necessarily approved by Allah. Thus, one probably could also derive the best idea from the most simplest or even the much undeveloped, harsh. That the very reason, the Malays had great vision: Ukur baju di badan sendiri! One can learn not only from Harvard professors, but even from the poor trishaw men. Muhammad SAW got the ideas on how to improve his people in the harsh Jabal Nur. Mahatma Ghandi, suffer to hunger to relief his people from the British oppression and interracial in fight. Hose Rizal turned the prison into his writing chamber to spread the spirit of nationalism among his people, the Philippines. Nelson Mandella, spent most of his life in the cell to liberate his nation, the South Africa, from the semantic apartheid.

Model of the Poorer States

My visit to Luang Prabang, Laos and Siem Reap, Chambodia in September 2010 was great. These two cities are not holy city. They are tourism cities. The cities were built along the marriage of the local culture and the French. The United Nation rebuilt the cities from the rubble of the long war and fighting in the region. The structures, the layout, the configuration gave a simple serene, pleasant and quiet seclude for soul searching visitors. The cities are Indochinese-French aptitude. In fact, now I’m conceptualising the redevelopment of the North Bank of the Sarawak river along similar model, insyaAllah if I’m trusted.

(2) In 2009, I visited my children days favourite figure person ie Ho Chii Minh's place of birth ie Hanoi. His home, his Museum, and his Mausoleum are treated as scared places by the Vietnamese. There are nice genius blend of local and French architectures and colors. The parks takes the local nice natural ambient well integration with the City development, the well landscape roads system, the surrounding communities’ activities preserved to the best natural states, and the visiting procedures are well observed makes the whole place really inviting and memorable. (Right, the home of the Unifying Father of the Vietnam, a great nationalist rather a communist who slam the American, French, British and Australian to chicken out in great shame)

(3) The same with the birth village of Mao Tze Dung the communism founder of China. His home, the rural surrounding environment, as well as the HighWay leading to his Village from ChangSa City, are well planned, developed, landscape and maintained. The aura of the Grand Chairman Moa is there as one drove to his Village. His Statue stand high across the ChangSa City Waterfront.

(4) If one watches the olden day martial art movies of the Chinese, Korean and Japanese, their temples really gave that serene and scared feeling. All because, the functionality of the Temples and the surrounding were well blended. The disciplines of the tenants, students, visitors are well observed and organised.

(5) In a smaller sense, the good feeling of the Floating Mosque of Kuala Trengganu, Putra Jaya, and Kg. Laut, Kelantan are all about blending of the Mosque with the local. The same with the Masjid Agung of Jakarta and Bandung.

(6) Unfortunately Hudaibiyah, Al Jannah, Jabal Nur, Mina, and Arafah don’t give me the sacred feeling of the place. Why? Probably, leaving these places along their natural environment won’t work. Accordingly, the messy Mecca, don’t excite me as well. Without Kaabah and Masjidil Haram, I would see Mecca is just another ordinary city, and that I would say very unfortunate. The Saudis had not able to work on the most strategic and practical concept to turn Mecca into the Spiritual-Tourism City, a city that shine the true civilization for all mankind. What happened was, they built, then they demolished. Mecca, is a City of Build and Destroy. What a waste of wealth and times?

(7) To me, as of today, Kaabah and MasjilHaram are a stand alone statues from the greater development of Mecca which is moving fast into the capitalist greed. In a much smaller sense, I see, Kaabah-MasjidilHaram and Mecca just like the isolated, stand alone Masjid Jamek of Kuching, Kota Kinabalu and Hasannal Bolkiah of Bandar Sri Bengawan. The Holy place, the City, the people are not well blended into a harmonious fabric. If not because of its compulsion onto the Muslims, Mecca or Madinah will just be a quiet city. Mecca lack the unity of the Soul and Body.

Critique of Present Mecca and Madinah Development

The Mayor of Madinah had worked well in making the Nabawi-Madinah into an integrated blend of City and Place of Worship. The glaring handicap, as a tradition probably, to follow the 'Sunnah' of Rasullulah, the business in Madinah still being organized along the bazaar concept. Trading in Madinah and Pasar Siti Khadijah of Kota Bharu doesn’t make much different except in term of building structures. Madinah (and Mecca and all those key historical sacred places) need more landscapes. The advice of Muhammad SAW: In Tanah Haram, one must not cut a tree so the Saudi must turn it into: In Tanah Haram, let organise orderly tree planting, and will not that would make Muhammad SAW smile with pride then? If it is true the ZamZam can cater for whatever numbers of human needs, I don’t see why such a blessing can’t be used to make Mecca, Madina and all those holy sites became great and pleasing green? How did Allah portray the beauty and pleasing of the Heaven: water and parks.

(2) Thus probably along the same premises, keeping with the tradition, Mecca trading areas are also being organized along the old Arab’s Bazaar. For those who have not been there, in fact Mecca and Madina cities are nothing more than the Gambier Street of Kuching. Just raised the buildings into 10-30 storeys and turn those into hotels, while the ground floors, just rent to those small or medium entrepreneurs to sell whatever they want to sell. It has not much deviated from the olden day Bazaar of the Egyptian, Turkish, or Persian. Even the hotels and all those block of buildings are not well connected though there are just side by side. Thick walls and messy lanes keeps them apart.

(3) The development of Kota Bharu, Kelantan especially within the radius of Masjid Muhammadiah, is just as what is happening in Mecca. A development without proper strategic plan. No wonder Nik Aziz Nik Mat called Kelantan as Serambi Mekah.

(4) I could see, the Saudi keep building tall buildings by the side of MasjidilHaram, but couples of years later, they will just have to demolish the buildings to make way for larger open space and traffic management for the pilgrimages. Worst, they keep digging all those rocky hills to build the buildings which if one care to calculate, the cost to flatten those hills are just as expensive as putting up the building itself. What a waste of resources?

(5) To me, the Saudi never use their economist to forecast the emerging prosperity of the whole Muslim world. The Saudi are too blind or naive to acknowledge that the other Muslims are just as equal if not better than them in the eyes of Allah. I have a strong sense, the Saudis are looking down at their others Muslim. What a pity, stingy and probably jahilliah.

(6) To solve the pilgrimage congestion, they just make a very adhoc and simple stand. To them, the answer to the influx of the Muslim pilgrimages is just by imposing two traditional thinking: quota and tore down all those nearby buildings. To me sound simple, but surely stupid and lazy. I would say, they are so used to the mind of don’t rather the mind of far creative facilitating.

(7) The very reason why the trading in Mecca and Madina had never change is simple. 1,400 years ago, Umar Al Khatab many times get furious with his people when he visited the bazaar. What he found out was the Arab Quraish love to leave the trading activities be run by the slaves, prisoners of war or even the traditional locals. He saw no change among them. They can’t even do good trading practices. That the very reason why he brought in the much business minded Quraish, but unfortunate they are easy going and lazy. Today, if one visited every trading outlets in Madinah and Mecca, these people, they spoke Malay: beli-beli, bagus-bagus, murah-murah, tiga sepuluh rial!. Most of them are either Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Indian or even Indonesian. Either they are in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Singapore, Bangkok, London or Perth, their style of trading remain the same. They are just the running dogs of the sleeping Arab tenants. The Meccan and Madinah people had greatly ignored the warning of Umar Al Khatab.

(8) To me, Mecca and Madinah, soon would be Indian, Bangladeshi, Indonesian, and Pakistani Streets. I won’t be surprise soon will come the Padang-Medan Phenomena all over Madinah and Mecca. Warung Bakso Istimewa already exist in Jeddah. Soon I believe both Jeddah nad Riyadh will be flooded with the Padang and Madura traders jsut as what is happening in Chow Kit Road in Kuala Lumpur. Observing the Arab liking, I would believe, lesehan would be their best future choice. The Indonesians are best at this. Just like the America, one day, a Javanese blood may rule Saudi Arabia.

My Dream of Mecca and Madinah

There are 1,200,000,000-1,300,000,000 Muslims worldwide. The Malays may constitutes about 250,000,000-300,000,000 of them. The Arabs may be around 300,000,000-400,000,000 of them. The Indian (inclusive the Bangladeshi and Pakistani) and Chinese are also substantial. The Turks and Persian are also great numbers. These nations or races, forms the emerging economies of the Muslim world. Taking the average of 20-30 percents as the upper to the lower middle income group, there would be 24,000,000,000-40,000,000,000 of them worldwide. This is the number that loves to have a visit at least once in their life time to these two places. But in Islam, even the poorest still work hard to accumulate sufficient resources to enable them to pay homage to Mecca. Thus this may contribute another 10,000,000-15,000,000 more to the figure. What then the annual growth rate within the Muslim world: 2.0-2.5 percent. But how much can Mecca accommodate the incoming of these people for Hajj and Umrah. In 2011, estimated only about 4,500,000 can make it there, because of the Quota. By 2020, estimated 15,000,000,000 will make it there. Is Mecca and Madina ready?



(2) By simple logic, there is a need of 2.0-2.5 percent facilities expansion on annual basis if Mecca and Madinah are to accommodate the full influx of the Muslim. Umrah took the most 14 days. Hajj may take to 30 days. But, the population of Mecca and Madinah itself is almost 2,000,000,000. Thus for every Thurday and Friday, the influx of the local to this Holy Places definitely will place strain to the visitors whom, based on my judgment on the March Umrah, there are about at least 500,000,000-700,000,000 of us there. Thus I would say at any Arab weekend, there are about 1,000,000,000-1,500,000,000 people in Mecca and Madinah for Umrah purpose. This is a huge influx. The figure I would say will never goes down. My observation, MasjidilHaram and Nabawi, at most can take about 1,000,000 people at a comfortable level while 4,500,000 would turned the place really into a very messy place. I don't believe such a huge number cramb into such a concentrated area would give all the solemnity needed by the pilgrimages, Thus, even at today level, the facilities in Mecca I would say should be twice if not three times better than what it is.

(3) Thus both MasjidilHaram and Nabawi should have at least 1,000,000 sq meters of praying places instead of the 300,000-400,000 sq meters that is available now respectively. Worst the transportation system in both Cities I would say is very inefficient and indiscipline. May be they are a bit better than Cairo or New Mexico!

(4) Surely there are views saying that, those are the challenges that made Hajj and Umrah became significant. I can take that argument if those challenges came in the forms of nature. But if those are due to human indifferent, I don’t believe even Allah will be happy with such. Did He not say: …I have given you everything so that you can (use them to) appreciate Me better…?. My believe, He had equipped Arabia with oil and water, but He purposely challenge them with the deadly desert climate, so that they (and we) could think on how to use all His endowments to make all His devotes to appreciate (syukur) of Him to the best.

(4) Tanah Haram is 20 kilometers in radius. That would give an area of 400 sq kilometres or 40,000 hectares based on Modern Mathematic calculation. But based on Algebraic calculation, the area would then expand to 3.14 (400) or 1,256 sq km or 125,600 hectares. This is a very significant size of urban planning areas.

(5) Thus my view, Allah had given Napoléon Bonaparte a great wisdom to come with the idea of Boulevard. In those days, he marched his army on these Boulevard to show his supremacy. In those days, there are hundreds of thousands of them. Europe was shaken by his show of power! Accordingly the influx of the pilgrimages are also a symbol of Allah army. Did Muhammad SAW not say something about this? Just imagine, the figure is in millions of them. We can even make the figure to run into tens of millions. Can’t we not think the possible adoption of the Boulevard ideas, to give the feel of the grand march of the Ummah of Muhammad?.

(6) Will it not be nice to be able to see MasjidilHaram and Nabawi from every and very distance corners of a City. The wide boulevard, dressed with nice landscapes with numerous mode of public transports shuttling and converging at say four main corners of the Masjids surely could give the image of the grand march to enable everybody to answer to the call of pray within 30 minutes from their places of stay and work.

(7) Accordingly, the Roman built their coliseum on high column. The Moors came with the concept of high post with arch structures. Muhammad SAW was saved by the cave and he got his first message while in the cave. The same with Moses. And Allah, had shown the human being how a cave can hold it gigantic structures due to the arc form of the 'column' and cavities. To me, in fact Allah had used the cave to give us the idea on how we could build a nice connectivity for both MasjidilHaram and Nabawi with vast open space to all the surrounding mega-buildings. Even the current MasjidilHaram and Nabawi are built along the Moors, the Romam, the cave concept of building structures. The only handicaps, the Saudi (we) never expand from there.

(8) Thus, as a rich State, the Saudi in fact must impose and provide incentives to all those developers within the vicinity of the Masjids to make at least the ground floor of their building as an open structure space that have clear visibility and connectivity to MasjidilHaram and Nabawi. The ground floor of these building should be at least two storeys high. Say why not make all buildings within the radius of five kilometres surrounding the MasjidilHaram and Nabawi to have such well planned vision. With such big space, I would believe, then MasjidilHaram and Nabawi would each have say 15,000,000 sq meters of open space. With such a space, therefore each Masjid could comfortably take at least 10,000,000 to 15,000,000 of pilgrimages at one time. If this could be accommodate, the pilgrimages could then generate trillion of Rials to the Saudi coffer. Thus, using the existing petro-money for the good of Islam and its ummah will pay off even a better deal. I believe Allah just love to see how our mind should facilitate to glorify His very religion.

(9) Islam is a great religion. The Saudi, whom Allah had given the trust to keep the religion failed to make it great. The wealth given by Allah to the Saudi for such purpose had been wasted to feed the greed of the American. The Saudi are still indifferent to the true purpose of Allah giving them the oil and gas. All because, they (we) had not fully submit to the concept of Allahuakbar. SubhannaAllah.

(10) Tanah Haram, to me in fact is a bounty for Muslims professionals. Allah had made that land only for the Muslims, yet we can’t take the advantage of such ruling to our best advantage. Our interpretation to the need to love Allah and Muhammad SAW seem to narrow to the very basic. We had not expanded our mind to really glorifying Islam as the Way of Lives to all the mankind. Islam is a civilization that should goven the whole humankind.

(11) The Malaysian and Indonesian Muslims, if we could combine force with the Khan of India and Pakistan and the Mullah of Central Asia, definitely we could help the Saudi to be a great keeper of Kaabah and Nabawi. I would believe, what needed now is for Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta to work together to place in history that the Malays are also key players in the spread and development of the Islamic civilization.

(12) The Malays, we are such a versatile community are very much tolerant to the mixed culture of the West, Middle East and Far East. With such a characteristic we should be able to what some dream: to be the renaissance force of the Islamic Civilization.

(13) Mecca and Madina should now take the position as the Islamic Centre of Excellence to all aspect of lives. Mecca must be a Mecca for all aspect of the Muslim world: spiritual, culture, trade, technologies, etc. The Malays probably should show the way to these Arabs. They need new leadership to lead them to the Real World of Islam.

(14) How? I have a though about how Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur should be able to make the Malays to be the renaissance force of the Islamic Civilization. I’m rewriting on this idea, and hopefully Najib and Mahathir will pick it up. Kuala Lumpur-Jakarta, the emerging of Islam should now be in the hand of the Malays. The sun rises from the East. The Kaabah’s door faces the East. Makam Ibrahim is located to the East. The Mt Safa and Marwan is to the East of Kaabah. What do all these mean? I believe, Allah do want us to think and work hard from now. My reasoning to be in Mecca and Madinah is answered. Probably five years from now, I will migrated to Jeddah if not Riyadh for the selling of this idea. Help me God. SubhannaAllah. MasyaAllah.

Aidil Fitri sudah. Merdeka pun sudah. Malaysia pun sudah lepas. Rasanya resah mungkin akibat tersasar belanjawan Aidil Fitri juga sudahpun terlepas, kerana, kelmarin kelihatan sesak di counter banyak Bank. Malam tadi, selepas makan malam bersama sanak saudara dan para pekerja, saya menyemak-nyemak buku yang belum saya baca. Kebetulan sebuah buku usang tersusun sama dengan beberapa novel berbentuk Sejarah dan Perjuangan. Saya agak hairan juga kenapa buku itu tiba-tiba saya kategorikan bersama novel-novel sebegitu.

(2) Buku lama ini berjudul: GELORA konfrontasi Mengganjang “Malaysia”, terbitan Depratmen Penerangan Republik Indonesia yang diterbitkan pada 1 Jun, 1964 bersempena dengan lahirnya Panca Sila, kebetulkan juga saya beli di Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta, pada 19 Feb., 2010 bersempena ulangtahun saya kenal Si Izan seorang sahabat istimewa.

(3) Sehingga agak larut malam, saya menyemak buku dan cuba memahami kenapa Sukarno begitu ghairah mahu menganyang Malaysia. Istilah yang dia gunakan adalah ganyang. Kalau mengikut istilah Jawa, ianya boleh bersifat sangat rakus dan ganas. Ganyang,juga boleh bersifat ringan-ringan sahaja, iaitu kalau dalam pengertian Melayu boleh sekadar makan-makan sahaja. Seperti ganyang ikan, maka kita hanya makan ikan secara ringan-ringan sahaja, sama keadaanya dengan orang Melanau menganyang ikan panggang dengan sagu, atau Tok Arab, menganyang kambing panggang dalam majlis tarian gelek.

(4) Namun maksud Sukarno terhadap ganyang Malaysia adalah keras, no retreat, no turning back, onward katanya. Saya sisipkan dari ungkapan pidato: ucapan beliau bertarikh 27 Julai, 1963:

”….kalau memikirkan ‘Malaysia’ itu, krengsangnja (sengit) itu berkobar-kobar, saudara-saudara.

Saudara-saudara senang sama ‘Malaysia’? Tjinta (cinta) sama ‘Malaysia’? Dojan (lalu) sama ‘Malaysia’? Lha kok hendak Saudara ganjang (ganyang)? Tjobalah (coba) dengarkan, kalau ganjang itu dimakan kemudian ditelan. Seperti kelmarin saja (saya) marah-marah kepada salah seorang kawana saja, saja itu dirumah punya dendeng (daging salai) kok dihabiskan oleh dia, diganjang oleh dia dendeng itu. Kerana apa? Dendengnja enak dan dia senang pada dendeng lantas dia ganyang itu dendeng.

Apa Saudara senang sama ‘Malaysia’?, tjinta sama ‘Malaysia’, dojan sama ‘Maaysia’? Sudahlah, baiknya begini, djangan kita ganjang ‘Malaysia’ tapi kita keremus (picit-picit) ‘Malaysia’. Keremus ‘Malayia’ atau getjeg (pijak-pijak) ‘Malaysia’ aa, dikeremus-keremus kemudian kita lepeh (giling mampat).

Tetapi saja tahu, saja tahu maksud dari Saudara-saudara memakai perkataan ganjang, sebab saja sendiri djuga (juga) sering memakai perkataan ganjang: “Ee adja maneh kowe sidjio, adja loro, adja telu, madjuo kabeh leganing atiku (bukan setakat hanya satu, dua, tiga, maju semuapun…geramnya hatiku) ”- sering saja sendiri berkata demikian- “adja sidji adja loro, madjuo kabeh leganing atiku jo, salekso ing ngarso, seketi ing wuri, kekedjero kojo manuk brandjangan, kopat-kapita kojo ulo tapak-angin, tak ganjang habis tanpa ngaran…” (serapah jangan berpatah arang, ganyang terus jangan undur)

…Tempo saja masih Kokrosono-muda, Sudara-saudara-saja memberi adjaran (pengajaran) kepada Rakyat Indonesia, bahawa djalan satu-satunya untuk mentjapai kemenangan jalan dalam bahasa asing ‘machtsaansvorming’ dan ‘machtsaanwending’. ‘Machtsaansvorming’ dan ‘Machtsaanwending’.‘Machtsaansvorming’ arinya menjusun kekuatan kita, menjusun tenaga kita, itu jang dinakaman ‘Machtsaansvorming’ dengan menghimpun segenap tenaga revolusioner kepada Rakjatb jelata jang berjuta-juta. ‘Machtsaanwending’ berarti mempergunakan, mengerakkan tenaga jang kita susun itu. Djikalau perlu kita gempurkan kepada musuh. ‘Machtsaansvorming’ dan ‘Machtsaanwending’

(5) Cita-cita asal Sukarno adalah secara pribadi dia mahu jadi Pemimpin Besar. Untuk mencapai tingkat itu, maka dia ingin membentuk Republik Indonesia merentang dari Sabang (Sumatera) ke Merauke (Irian Jaya, sekarang Papua) seperti dalam pidato beliau pada 16 March, 1964. Sabah dan Sarawak yang tergolong dalam wilayah Kalimantan, sepertinya beliau anggap seharusnya membentuk sebahagian dari cita-cita Republik Indonesia biarpun tidak pernah dinayatak secara terang-terangan oleh beliau.

(6) Gagasan pengwujudan ‘Malaysia’ pastinya menjadi penghalang kepada cita-cita besar beliau. Maka dengan sebab itu, dalam perrtemuan enam mata di Tokyo antara Sukarno-Macapagal-Tunku Abdul Rahman, beliau telah mendesak Tunku untuk tidak mengistiharkan kemerdekaan pada 31 Ogos, 1957. Beliau mahu Tunku menangguhkan peristiharan kemerdekaan itu sehingga punggutan suara semula dengan di perhatikan oleh Indonesia dan Filipina dijalankan semula tentang keinginan rakyat Sabah dan Sarawak untuk bersatu membentuk Malaysia.

(7) Tunku atas sifatnya sebagai negarawan, tidak minser: berganjak dari pendiriannya untuk mengistihar kemerdekaan pada 31 Ogos, 1957. Namun, pembentukan Malaysia telah ditangguhkan, dan setelah mendapat mandat dari Bangsa-bangsa Bersatu (UN), maka Malaysia telah diistiharkan tertubuh pada 16 Sept., 1963. Maka kerana Sukarno tidak setuju kemasukkan Sarawak dan Sabah sebagai wilayah dalam Malaysia kerana ini menjejas jambatan pembentukan sebuah Republik Indonesia yang luas, pastinya dia mengistiharkan ganjang Malaysia atas tiket neo-kolonisma.

(8) Inilah sejarah yang semua anak Malaysia perlu ingati. Kita seharusnya mengerti kenapa 31 Ogos, dan 16 Sept., menjadi dua tarikh yang harus kita hargai. Kita tidak boleh mengatakan bahawa 31 Ogos tiada kaitan dengan Malaysia serta juga kita tidak boleh hanya mengagungkan 16 Sept., tanpa peduli terhadap 31 Ogos. Itulah jalanan kemerdekaan kita, itulah natijah yang perlu kita akui dan pertahankan.

Pagi ini saya agak kesasar: terbabas dalam menghadapiNya. Mungkin kerana sudah terlalu lama ngak pulang ke kampung dan dapat santai menikmati haruman semerbak kembang yang segar dan alam hijau, maka tidur saya jadi terlalu lena, saat saja Mind Warrior: Strategies For Total Mental Domination terlepas dari dada. Kebetulan, semalam juga saya kelelahan menampal dinding rumah dan segala kamar dengan lukisan kanvas tentang kehidupan silam, yang suatu hari nanti pasti ngak akan kita ketemui lagi. Saya cuba memperingatkan siapapun yang menduduki rumah ini nanti, betapa payah itu akan tetap ada, cuma coraknya pasti berbeda. Kehadiran kepayahan itu pasti cepat menerpa jika kita lupa dan lalai tentang betapa apapun pada kita, pasti ada hak yang lainnya.

(2) Usai mampir kehadapanNya dalam ringan-ringan, saya mengempani: memberi makan ikan ternak saya dalam kolam. Saya punya keinginan mahu menjadi penternak dan pembiak (breeder) ikan gurami: kaloi.Jika mahu tahu rupanya ikan kaloi, mungkin bagus kalau pembaca dapat menonton cerita Melayu lama: Bawang Putih, Bawang Merah lakunan Latifah Omar kalau tak silapnya.

(2) Saat ikan-ikan itu berebutan makanan, seperti terbayang wajah Jasmine, anak kecil milik sebuah keluarga kecil dan miskin yang saya temui di Phnom Penh di awal bulan ini. Jasmine, kerana kemiskinan, maka dia makan sekadarnya sahaja. Saya berkira, kerana kemiskinan juga, maka ibunya saat mengandung pasti tidak kecukupan makanan. Akibatnya, kini Jasmine menjadi terlalu comel halus kelingking, tidak lalu makan dan sering lesu. Saya cuba membantu, namun kerana Kambodia juga adalah sebuah negara miskin, maka tidak banyak yang dapat diusahakan dalam waktu pertemuan yang sangat singkat itu.

(3) Saya cuba mengirim Multi-Vitamin dan keperluan nutrient lainnya untuk Jasmine. Sepertinya, terlalu banyak sangat halangan. POS Malaysia engan membantu. Saya minta agar diusahakan dengan Courier Service, namun chargenya menghantu tinggi. Bayangkan harga multi-vitamin hanya sekitar RM25.00 sebotol untuk 60 kapsul, sedang kos menghantar dua botol sudah menjangkau RM250.00. Saya belum pasti samaada saya boleh menghantar supplementary nutrient berkenaan kepada Jasmine.

(4) Sambil mengempani gurami hati saya menjadi sedih. Jasmine seperti hadir dalam perebutan kaloi untuk menangkap makanan. Kaloi dapat saya empani sedang Jasmine anak miskin, yang sedang payah, hanya dapat saya bayangkan. Inilah aturan dunia, mengikat segala kaki dan tangan kita untuk membantu yang memerlukan. Anih dan bodoh!

(5) Di Jawa, gurami adalah ikan istimewa: specialty. Mungkin sama istimewanya dengan terubok, cuma bedanya, kaloi adalah ikan air tawar sedang terubok adalah ikan air masin. Selalunya, di sana, di Jawa, gurami di belah dua, lalu di goreng garing, saya tidak pasti sama ada deep fry atau apa, cuma ianya digoreng secara istimewa, bla masak ianya kelihatan mengelengkong, lalu dimakan bersama sambal cili padi yang digauli dengan beberapa rempahan lain. Olahan masak sebegitu, saya kira adalah jalan bagi menghilangan hamis atau hanyir rasa kolam ika tersebut. Di Kuching, kadang-kadang kita boleh dapat gurami goreng di Restauran Gamelan di Jalan Simpang Tiga, di belakang Bangunan Koperkasa. Saya sering ke sana untuk menikmati makanan Manado dan Jawa.

(6) Mungkin teman-teman yang punya tanah yang agak luas samada di kampung atau kota, keliling rumah bisa dibina kolam dari simen atau tanah sahaja, dan di kelilingnya ditanami segala macam kembangan dan kangkung. Kaloi sangat suka makan kangkung. Sisa nasi makanan kita juga boleh ditabur untuk makanan kaloi. Mulutnya yang agak muncung membolehkannya grazing. Letak saja bungkah-bungkah batu di dalam kolam seolah-olah kita membina lubuk-lubuk tiruan atau gua-gua kecil. Kaloi pasti akan mengumpul sisa gentian kangkung untuk dibuat sarang. Di sanalah nanti ianya menetaskan anak-anaknya. Saya bukan Zoologist, maka agak kurang mengerti tabiat kaloi, namun pemerhatian awal saya sebegitulah tabiatnya. Sebetulnya, di dalam tiga buah kolam yang saya ada, sebuah darinya seperti sudah agak sebati untuk pembiakan kaloi.

(7) Memberi makan ikan-ikan ternakan di awal pagi juga lewat petang (sore), memang seronok. Cuma, saat kita enak memberi makan ikan ternakan kita, saat kegembiraan itu haruslah kita layarkan kepada mereka yang susah dan payah, tidak seistimewa kaloi yang kita pelihara.

(8) Mungkin kalian yang membaca punya jalan agar saya dapat membantu Jasmine dengan segala keperluan obatan dan supplementary nutrientnya dengan jalan yang lebih mudah dan agak berpatutan. Saya mengirim buku-bulu dari Vientien, Laos pulang ke Malaysia sekitar 40 Kg, perbelanjaannya cuma sekitar U$100.00, ini, ubatan hanya seberat 0.25Kg, nilainya RM250.00 atau U$80.00. Saya kaget dan amat berasa anih! Saya benar-benar rasa bersalah, kerana sudah banyak anak-anak miskin diperantauan yang saya temui, saya hanya ingat wajah mereka lewat rakaman kamera, kini, pada Jasmine, saya mahu di membesar sebagi Muslimin yang suatu hari nanti akan berdiri membela bangsanya yang telah tersiksa teranyiaya.

Saya telah banyak mengkritik kelemahan nyata masyarakat Islam khususnya golongan minoriti di ranrau ASEAN: Thailand, Kambodia, Filipina, Vietnam dan Laos. Inilah masyarakat Islam yang suku tempatan di kenali sebagai Pattani (Thailand), Cham (Kambodia, Vietnam dan Laos), dan Sulu (Filipina). Masyarakat in dulunya, dalam zaman kegemilangan Islam di nusantara punya Kerajaan tersendiri: Champa yang berpusat di Vietnam, Kesultanan Sulu di Mindanao dan kepulauan sekitarnya sehingga ke Sabah, Pattani di selatan Siam> Namun sejak 500 tahun lepas masyarakat ini telah tidak putus-putus mengalami tekanan yang sangat dahsat. Bermula dari penjajah Barat (Peranchis, Sepanyol, Amerika, dan British) sehinggalah tekanan dalaman semasa kemelut komunis, membawa sehingga ke pemerintahan di abad ke 21 ini. Atas alas an keganasan Islam maka kini mereka sudah menjadi duri dalam daging kepada pemerinthan yang ada serta menjadi alasan yang mustajab dalam menyisih dan menghapuskan mereka.

(2) Mengkaji sejarah kegemilangan Kerajaan Islam lampau seharusnya menjadi suatu bidang kemestian bagi kita umat Islam dan Melayu. Lihatlah bagaimana Kerajaan Champa, Kesultanan Sulu, Kerajaan Majapahit, Kerajaan Mataram, Kesultanan Melaka, Kerajaan Jambi dan Kerajaan Pasai, semuanya tersungkur di tangan penjajah Barat sekitar abad ke 13. Semuanya terjadi seperti suatau tsunami yang mematikan. Kini, tusnami itu sedang melanda negera-negara Islam Arab. Kita seperti tidak mahu belajar dari kesilapan dan kealpaan lepas.

(3) Secara umum, mereka ini sangat memerlukan bantuan antarabangsa, khusus dalam memberikan bantuan kepimpinan yang boleh merubah cara berfikir dan bertindak mereka yang nampaknya dalam kekalutan yang sangat dahsat. Perpecahan di kalangan mereka pastinya suatu yang tidak dapat dielakkan memandangkan segala bentuk pecah dan perintah yang telah diasakkan kepada mereka selama ini. Kini, masyarakat ini, lantaran kemiskinan dan kepayahan hidup yang sangat dahsat, maka masing-masing bersikap seperti enau dalam belukar. Masing-masing perlu bersikap merebut hidup sendiri-sendiri.

(4) Kita masyarakat Islam di Malaysia terutamanya, tidak boleh mengambil sikap hanya pejam mata dan telinga atas penderitaan mereka ini. Kita harus sedar, dalam kehidupan kita ini, keperluan untuk pertamanya bersanak saudara lalu bermasyarakat adalah sangat penting. Maka di peringkat antarabangsa juga kita harus punya hubungan dengan mereka yang boleh menjadi sahabat kita di saat kita perlukan mereka nanti. Untuk ini, wajar dalam wilayah serantau, masyarakat Melayu dan Jawa yang kini menjadi teras kepada Agama Islam di nusantara harus memainkan peranan yang besar dan cergas dalam sama-sama membela dan membangun masyarakat Islam terpinggir ini.

(5) Dua perkara, saya kira adalah perkara asas yang perlu dilakukan segera bagi membantu mereka ini. Pertamanya dalam bidang pendidikan, dan kedua dalam bidang eknomi.

(6) Dalam pendidikan, mereka sepertinya sedang tercari-cari sistem yang boleh mempertahankan jati diri mereka. Di peringkat nasional, mereka tidak boleh lari dari mengikuti pendidikan kebangsaan Thailand, Kemboja, Laos, Vietnam dan Filipina. Namun, jika mereka hanya terbiar dalam sistem berkenaan yang pastinya akan meminggir dan atau menyingkirkan keperluan jati diri budaya dan pendidikan Islam, maka mungkin dalam satu ke dua generasi akan datang, mereka pastinya tidak akan dapat bertahan lagi. Juga sistem pendidikan Kebangsaan mereka tidak dapat membawa mereka ke mana-mana, kerana ianya sangat berbeda dengan di Malaysia di mana pemerintah terus membiayai pelajar kita ke tahap di mana mereka mahu terus belajar. Di Negara-negara ini, pendidikan lanjutan sangat terbatas akibat keperluan pembiayaan yang sangat tinggi.

(7) Kecenderungan mereka untuk samada berada di Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei dan bahkan Negara-negara Arab selalunya sekadar untuk mempelajari soal-soal rohaniah pastinya tidak akan dapat menjamin kemandirain jangka panjang mereka. Kini, sudah banyak keluhan, setelah kembali dari mengikuti pelajaran pondok atau pesantren, mereka hanya boleh menjadi Imam dan atau guru agama secara sukarela atau mendapat upah yang sangat kecil. Akhirnya, mereka juga terpaksa memikirkan jalan bubar demi mengejar hidup: “Mana boleh kita terus berkerja secara sukarela, anak bini, kaum keluarga serta segala keperluan hidup lain memerlukan wang”.

(8) Jika ini terus terbiar, maka di saat goyah dan getir seperti ini, pastinya banyak yang akan kalah. Maka kini kita dapati banyak di kalangan golongan muda sudah menjauhi agama mereka dan mengambil sikap lewa atas keperluan KeIslaman mereka, malah mereka seperti mahu biadap, menyoal:”Mana janji yang Allah akan membantu kami, sedang saat kami sangat perlukan bantuan, tiada siapapun peduli akan kami!”. Inilah hujjah yang pasti jika ianya muncul, maka akan banyak yang akan menangguk di air keruh. Saat sebegitu, apakah kita umat Islam yang lebih mampu tidak bersalah?

(9) Maka dengan itu, wajar saya berkira kita harus punya sekolah pondok, madrasah atau pesantren yang dapat menggajar kedua-dua ilmu duniawi dan syurgawi, agar siapapun yang terlahir dari sana nanti akan menjadi Muslimin yang serba lengkap. Kita sebetulnya, ketandusan institusi sebegitu. Pendidikan Nasional mana-mana negara sekalipun akan lebih menekan soal duniawi, sedang sekolah pondok pula menekan syurgawi. Soalnya, kepincangan keduanya akhirnya tidak akan memberikan kita kesempatan untuk mencapai apapun samada duniawi atau syurgawi. Natijahnya, bila miskin, menderita, syurga ke mana, akhiratpun entah ke mana? Kesiembangan antara keduanya harus kita bentuk segera.

(10) Institusi-institusi sebegini, seharusnya dijadikan wadah bagi membentuk pemimpin elit dari kalangan masyarakat Islam minoriti terpinggir ini untuk dilatih agar menjadi pengerak kemajuan sebenar golongan berkenaan di negara masing-masing. Satu gagasan antarabangsa mengenai perkara ini boleh di usahakan melalui pelbagai institusi yang sedia ada atau melalui institusi baru yang dapat mengembelingkan sumber-sumber dari masyarakat Islam antarabangsa seluruhnya. Saya yakin, masyarakat Islam di Bosnia, Hezagovina, Chechen, Madgaskar, Afrika Selatan, dll juga sedang menghadapi masalah yang sama.

(11) Dalam bidang ekonomi, sebetulnya banyak keperluan bersama yang boleh dijadikan asas bagi urusan dagangan timbalbalas. Dengan adanya masyarakat minoriti ini di negara-negara berkeanaan, pastinya akan memudahkan bagi para pedagang Malaysia, Brunai bahkan Indonesia untuk bersama menjadi jambatan dalam membanunan hubungan dagang rantau sebelah sini dengan rantau di Timur Tengah dan bahkan Barat.

(12) Contohnya dengan kepesatan sektor hartanah di Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapura, dan bahkan di Brunei dan Timur Tengah, maka keperluan barangan sokongan, contohnya perabut, perhiasan, seni taman, perkakasan rumah, dsb dari rantau Indochina pastinya punya pasaran yang sangat luas. Masyarakat minoriti ini boleh menjadi jambatan paling baik jika perkara ini dapat diusahakan secara bersepadu.

(13) Pembangunan sector ekonomi kaum minoriti ini perlu dilakukan dengan penuh bijaksana. Maka jika di kalangan mereka telah kita didik dan diasuh sebaiknya, maka adalah wajar kelompok ini harus menjadi pengerak kepada usaha-usaha pembangunan ekonomi yang lebih besar dan mampan. Saya berkira, mereka sangat perlukan sokongan perbankan. Bank Islam dan Bank Rakyat yang berkonsepkan Grammen Bank Bangladesh mungkin perlu kita gerakkan di sini. GLC kita seperti Sime Darby, Tabung Haji, FELDA dsb sebaiknya perlulah mengembangan sayap mereka ke sana terutama dalam menerokai sector perladangan dan hartanah. Bidang perdagangan juga tidak harus dilupakan.

(14) Saya percaya, Malaysia kini punya anak-anak Melayu Islam yang sanggup mencoba hidup di luar negara, Cuma kita harus secara berani dan teratur menjuruskan mereka kepada keperluan masa depan negara yang lebih strategik.

(15) Masanya sudah tiba bagi Najib mengorak langkah dalam menyepadukan tenaga kepintaran Melayu Islam lulusan Timur Tengah, Barat, dan Tempatan yang punya keazaman yang tinggi untuk dijadikan tonggak ke arah ini. Kita juga mempunyai tenaga kepakaran yang telah bersara namun masih segar bungar, dan saya yakin mereka ini akan menjadi lebih berguna dari hanya menjadi warga emas yang membuang masa di padang golf jika tenaga mereka dapat di satu bersama golongan muda ini untuk perkembangan ekonomi Malaysia ke luar dari batas biasa kita.

(16) Bagi umat Islam yang sudah ada kelapangan, wajar kita sekarang melihat perkara menjangkau keluar sempadan negara sebagai suatu langkah untuk menyediakan wadah perkembangan ekonomi buat anak bangsa kita di masa mendatang. Kita harus meletakkan asas yang kukuh buat golongan mendatang agar mereka tidak terkapai-kapai sebagaimana golongan Islam minoriti ini akhirnya.

I have been thinking and hoping, that one day the Arabs will stand on their feet, even to the extend willing to die, to liberate their countries from the grip of the West. Sana'aa of Yemen strated the fire. It spread to Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Bahrain, Kuwait, and even Iran. To me since the Shah of Iran to the Saud of Suadi, all of these leaders are (were) American proxies and or puppets.

(2) Why the Arab-Persian earth was and is very important to the American in particular? Let go back to the World History. When the France and Russia first started the Jewish cleansing in Prussia, and later followed by Hitler in German, the Jews saw America as the new frontier for them to practice what Hitler defined as 'unwanted business culture' ie earning wealth through speculative business practices either in the Financial System and or Retail Business. In Islam, this practice is amounting to perpetuating riba: doing business at high financial cost and placing the general public in very disadvantage level.

(3) The Jews were not only smart and shrewd in their business endeavors in the 18-19th centuries, they had been great business manipulator since the Pharaoh period under the live time of Prophet Joseph. During the pre-Islamic and early period of Medina, ie during the Muhammad struggle to infuse the teaching of Islam, the Jews were also well known as great traders and business community in the early making of Medina.

(4) Their characters never change from that of Hajar, the Jewish mother, the wife of Prophet Abraham, through his son, Prophet Isaac. Hajar, due to her jealousy of Sarah and her son Ismael, the elder son of Abraham had made Abraham to placed Ismael and Sarah into the hardship of the Arabian deserted desert. Hajar in fact was greedy to demand that Abraham must pay greater attention to Isaac and her rather to Sarah and Ismael. This greed, actual arrived from her speculation that Abraham might not favor Isaac over Ismael in what ever his godly deed. Jealousy, greed and speculative are the best characters and a must values for the Jews.

(5) Thus, even to this day, since they believe that this earth is only for the chosen one like them, thus all other nations must be deprived of the worldly prosperity. Unfortunately, since the day of their birth, the Jews is a race with no State. Since they have no State, that was the reason why God had promised them the land of the Palestine as their future State. Accordingly, when Palestine was devastated by the Rom, the Persian, the Khalifah, the Turk, and even the Mongols, therefore they went astray all over Europe and Africa. Nonetheless, their jeaolusy, greed and speculative values never change but getting stronger and more shrewd. They remain greatest business manipulators and speculators against the locals.

(6) Thus, the European don't accept them. They were the unwanted Stateless of the European. Israel was later formed. The Arab weer held at gun point to accept Israel. The American and the European (and the African to an extend) must protect the existence and survival of Israel in order to contain the growth of the Jews in their home ground.

(7) The migration of highly educated and talented Jews of the German during the Hitler regime to America helped to strengthen the establishment and existence of Israel. These American Jews established lots of Financial Institutions which finance lots of investment in the Arab world. The huge profit were shifted to develop Israel. Accordingly, with billion of Petro-money being pumped by each Arab Oil Rich State, almost all of these money later were kept in the American and European banks that are controlled by the Jews. They profited ftrom all these saving and lending. The Jews make business with the Arabs by using the Arabs money.

(8) In fact, trillion of dollars were generated by the Jews annually, not through the capitalization of the natural wealth, which they never have, but merely by spinning their mind shrewdly and make fortune out of others miseries.

(9) The war in Kuwait, then in Iraq were effective ways to jack the petrol price sky rocketing. With this price upsurged, the Jews who controlled all these industries direct and indirectly through their capital financing were the one who really gain.

(10) Now the chaotic in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Bahrain, Yemen, etc is just another speculative game not only to profit greater gain, but as well as to weaken those States. Thus if those are achievable, with the current Obama Administration that is more lenient toward the Palestine settlement, thus the Israel will always on the upper hand, and the American policy could be always directed in favor of the Jews and Israel.

(11) Most important, the instability of the Arab States would allowed the American to print more dollars and flood their land with lots of dollar bribery: buying and installing of American friendly leaderships (extending U$145 million 'aids' to Egypt, and would 'help' in what ever mean to new Libya Government). With a flood of American dollar in Arabs states, and their instability, the intention to promote Dinar or Gold as the alternative currency system will die without a struggle. The Arab would kill their own wish and dream! Of course Dr mahathir have the same intention.

(12) Currently, the American dollar is weaking. It is not American dollar, in fact it is the Jewish Global Domination Curreny. Thus to strengthen the American dollar the easy way, as usual, the American and the Jews are very smart to creat war. American dollar nad economy always be good if there are wars elsewhere being created. I strongly believe, the Jews are again spinning their brain smart enough to kill and destabilised the Arabs without shooting their own bullet and strengthening over the control on the world economy and business.

(13) That is why Allah have said; the Jews are the chosen people. The chosen people to teach the coward, lazy, greedy, and self-interest race (Arab) and individual how they would be destroyed because of those characters.

(14) The Jews are the chosen one, for us to realise when we are coward, lazy, greedy, self-interest would one day will also be destroyed by Allah just as Mubarak, Gaddafi, Shah Iran, Sadam Husein and many others.

Sometimes ago, I read the historical renaissance of Mecca. Mecca, a holy city, where initially, Allah had ordered angels to build the Ka'aaba as the spiritual centre of His creations. Later, Adam was ordered to improve on it. Due to weathering and long neglect, it was Abraham and Ismael who later rebuilt the ruin of Ka'aba, where thereon, instead of being the center of monotheism, but due to an emergence of a stronger polytheism city called Sanaa in the South, Mecca later lost it course. Only thousand of years later, Muhammad managed to bring back Mecca into the centre of monotheism, ie Islam.

(2) Interestingly, the same Sanaa, now the capital city of Yaman, once again takes a prime role to change the Arab sphere, hopefully into a better Islamic States. Starting with the Yaman people 'democratic' uprising, now Mubarak of Egypt has gone. Ghadafi is in the verge of collapse.

(3) Both Ghadafi and Mubarak were once nationalist. Ghadafi fought to liberate Libya from the Italian. Mubarak fought against the British (together with Gamal Naser and Anwar Sadat).

(4) About 40 years ago, Ghadafi was the national hero. To the Libyan, he was almost second to God. The same applied to Sadam, Assad, Shah Palavi of Iran, etc. He (they) managed to nationalised the Libyan petroleum industry, initially for the good of his people. Nonetheless, due to the Western pressure, despite being an independent country, he (and Libya) never being freed from the sphere of Western aggression which came in various forms. The West particularly the Italian, has been wanting to recolonized Libya for the oil.

(5) The same applies to the American course of action in the Middle East, whom want to be forever in Saudi, Kuwait, Iraq, and even Iran, not for the prosperity of the local natives Arab, but merely for the oil. Oil is a strategic and basic requirement of the Western Industrial survival.

(6) To us, the Malaysians, this should remind us of the British when they colonised Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak, Brunei, etc which was merely to control the tin, rubber and spice trade. Fortunately, the British don't quite realise our oil wealth, such that they are less interested to hold on to this region after the WWII. All these troubles, are actually started with the greedy West (and surely our own carelessness) over the need to control the petroleum resources.

(7) Thus, the West, due to their upper hand civilization advancement, had used politic and democracy to keep those leaders, whom, in Malay termed as: Bagai lembu dicucuk hidung to lead all these countries to protect their interest (petroleum, trading route, and defense). When there are leaders who are deffiant and non-comformance to their wants and needs, which makes their interest at stake, they would work hard and being shrewd to get rid of those leaders. Sadam was their first victim. Now the president of Iran. Our Dr. Mahathir Mohammed, was once also their 'soft' target.

(8) As for Libya, as long as oil are abundant, of course, Italy had longing love to topple Ghadafi. Thus keeping Ghadafi in the continuous Sense of Insecurity. Worst, the American and British are always on standby to give a hand.

(9) I believe, since the day Ghadafi managed to liberate and nationalised the Libyan's petroleum asset, he had been always shadowed by all sort of threats and uncertainty. International and domestic threats were and continue to trail him. Thus, instead of using the nation wealth for the good and modernization of his nation, he spent most of the money to buy protection either through building all those unecessary security surounding him and or under the pretext of national security.

(10) Surely he had also used the money to make himself look grand. Ghadafi was (is) grand, but his people, majority of them live in poverty, misery, backward, or even worst from when they were colonised. These, I believe happened to Sadam Husein, Assad of Syria, Shah Palavi of Iran, King Husein of Jordan, in Yaman, in Bahrain, in Saudi, and all those Arab countries! These leaders, they fear more of the external threat, and ignored what Allah had said:...poverty, improvish, makes once an infidel..., thus due to their failure to take care of their own people welfare (the masses welfare), now, their own people became their worst enemy!

(11) Among us, also I would say, we (might be alot of us) do behave as such. While in authority (in whatever position), an authority that suppose to facilitate us to serve the people, but we spent most of our time (health and energy) to gain pleasure and weath for ourselves. If we are just as such, then, there is no different between us and those of Mubarak, and or Ghadafi, just that we probably are just Little Mubarak and Little Ghadafi!

(12) Today we might be talking about Ghadafi and Mubarak. But we may had forgotten about our own similar deed. Now I began to see, how, in Civil Service, those whom are old enough, even had passed their retiring age, still want to hang around. To them, the State still need them. They believe they are still being needed and wanted. It is the truth? Did we not ask ourselve, when we are being reengaged,is it really due to the State really wanting us or because we are pleading to be aroud? The Malay proverb: Hidung kemek, pipi tersorong-sorong!

(13) Allah is Great. Shah Reza Palavi (Iran), Sadam Husein (Iraq), Husni Mubarak (Egypt), and now Muamar Ghadafi (libya) were (are) His medium to tell us, on how bad to have these greedy and self-intetest characters. Nelson Mandela and Mahathir Mohammed are another example on how, if one is really great, they could still be great even when they are out of the power. That are why they are being honored!

(14) If we continue to think that we must be around even when our age and or health wise (energy, brain power, etc) doesn't give us the vigor to be around, and using the excuses that the young are not ready, then, it was us whom not really making them ready. To me, no such thing that they will be (very) ready. Just let the young be given the chance to dive and swim. When time has come for us to retreat, let just honorably retreat and take our different role. If we are good, as we believe, definitely there is always a room for us elsewhere and not to stop others in their career path. If Mubarak and Ghadafi had realized this, they won't be taken out with disgrace!
